| I found this article below when I was searching for a list of empty calorie foods. Remember the new commercials about High Fructose Corn Syrup? The commercials are telling lies about HFCS. The first time I saw one of those commercials I didn't know what to think about it, except, they are wrong. A couple of years ago I attended a health siminar and the instructor showed how HFCS is bad, bad, bad for you. The commercials are saying that HFCS is good for you, but that is a lie. The commercials say that HFCS is natural because it is made with corn. This is partly true. It is made from corn, but it is highly processed. I saw on television all the steps it takes to make this stuff and it isn't pretty. I don't see any thing natural about HFCS since it is highly processes. Processed foods are bad to eat because they use so many bad ingredients in it. Since I quit eating HFCS I have not been feeling as hungry. Read this article.
Stay Away From Empty Calorie Foods Built Up As Healthy Eating - Avoid High Fructose Corn Syrup
You may have recently noticed this new campaign and an onslaught of new advertisements on the Internet and on television trying to change the inferior image of high fructose corn syrup (HFCS). All they are really doing is trying to enhance and talk up this food ingredient as being "healthy" and "not bad for you".
These promotional and exploitative crusades don't come across as blatantly saying that high fructose corn syrup is "health food" or "healthy for you", but they do try to get sharp-witted and mislead people into thinking that it's not that bad for your body and healthy living. In fact, they make numerous distorted allegations such as:
"It's 100% natural" "It's no worse for somebody than table sugar is" "HFCS is made from corn" "It has a similar calorie content to table sugar"
As you can clearly gather, these advertisements are trying to mislead us into thinking that HFCS isn't harmful after all... I mean, they do say that it's "100% natural" and "made from corn". These ads are pure bogus and they should be ashamed of themselves!
In my opinion, these advertisements are very unethical and immoral. Let me start by saying, this country especially, and the rest of the world for that matter, is suffering the greatest obesity epidemic ever, if you didn't already know, as well as spiking numbers in degenerative diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. What makes matters worse it that they're now successfully victimizing innocent people into thinking that high fructose corn syrup is somehow healthy or not bad for you.
Meanwhile, as our country and our children get fatter, more unhealthy and lazy, these companies are pocketing unbelievably huge profits since HFCS is in the majority of all processed food that people buy and consume on a daily basis.
As for their notion that HFCS is "no worse for you than sugar"... I'm not even going to elaborate any further about any of the substantial scientific data on how HFCS affects the leptin (protein hormone) and insulin processes in your body, your blood sugar process, appetite levels, etc. Rather, I want to make a much more valid point:
Does anybody really give a hoot if HFCS is "no worse for you than sugar is"... because sugar is one of the worst things you can consume anyway, so it is not even a genuine argument and wouldn't be considered a legitimate point for discussion anyway.
The point you need to understand is that if you want to feel good, be as fit as you can be, and lead a healthy lifestyle, you should first and foremost, reduce, or even eliminate all sugar and high fructose corn syrup in your diet. In fact, most processed food, which I bet makes up a lot of your daily food intake, should be removed altogether if you want to stay focused in achieving that lean body and healthy lifestyle.
As for there claim that HFCS is "100%-natural"... don't even get me going on that topic! It's really an absurd statement to start with. It doesn't matter if you call it a "natural" or an artificial ingredient, the point is that it's a highly processed, refined substance that makes you gain weight!
So the next time you're thinking about drinking that can of soda, or eating that candy bar or that piece of chocolate cake, just think about what negative effect consuming all that excess sugar (HFCS) is going to directly have on your undertakings to lose body fat and what it can eventually lead to as far as other health problems are concerned.
